We recognise that modern slavery, such as slavery, servitude, forced and child labour, debt bondage and human trafficking are significant human rights issues and are committed to implementing appropriate and proportionate procedures to mitigate the risk of modern slavery within our supply chains and our own business. As part of our due diligence processes we will make enquiries of all new sub-contractors and suppliers as to the mechanisms they have in place to combat modern slavery and we will require all new sub-contractors and suppliers to express their commitment to comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
This statement is for the financial year ended 31 December 2020 and is made on behalf of Fairview Holdings Limited (holding company), Fairview New Homes Limited (intermediate holding company) and their subsidiaries, specifically Fairview Estates (Housing) Limited, Fairview New Homes (Properties) Limited and Fairview New Homes (Charlton) Limited ("Fairview") in accordance with the Modem Slavery Act 2015 and its contents take account of the activities and supply chains of them all.
Fairview Holdings Limited and its group companies are private limited companies engaged in the residential property development and construction sector. We have circa 250 employees, the majority of whom are based at our head office. We operate solely within the UK.
The key areas of our supply chain that could be affected by modern slavery are:
1. Agency workers working on our behalf.
2. Operatives working for our sub-contractors and their sub-contractors at our construction sites.
3. The procurement of materials and products.
We have long standing relationships with many of our sub-contractors and suppliers, the majority of whom operate within the UK, but we do contract with suppliers from or who operate in other jurisdictions.
Our aim is to ensure that there is no modern slavery in our supply chains or in any part of our business. Our Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in our business relationships by implementing systems to mitigate the risk of modern slavery in our supply chains.
As part of our initiative to identify and mitigate risk we have:
1. Identified potential risk areas in our supply chains.
2. Developed and agreed our Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy.
3. Reviewed the contracts we have with our supply chains.
We will provide training to procurement staff and other relevant employees.
The statement has been approved by the Board of Directors of Fairview New Homes Limited who review and update it as necessary on an annual basis.
