The site manager overseeing the build of a new homes development in Buntingford is celebrating after winning a prestigious industry award for the second year in succession.
Dave Lawrence, who manages the construction team at The Village, off London Road, was awarded a Quality Award in the National House Building Council’s (NHBC) Pride in the Job Awards.
Recognised as the most highly-regarded competition in the housebuilding industry, the awards honour site managers across the country who achieve the highest standards in construction.
Dave has been based on site at The Village – Fairview New Homes’ development on the former Sainsbury’s depot site – since building work began in June 2015.
He said: “It was a great honour to win a Quality Award last year for our site in Buntingford, so to have repeated the success again in 2018 is even more satisfying.
“We have a really good team of people at The Village who work tirelessly to maintain our high standards of workmanship on a daily basis, so this award is a credit to all our site staff.
“It’s really pleasing to know I’m among the top site managers in the country, and I’m looking forward to receiving my award at the southern area finals event later this year.”
Dave now goes forward to the next stage of the Pride in the Job awards – the NHBC’s Seal of Excellence Award.
Dave and his team recently began building work on homes within phase 3 at The Village, which will comprise 51 homes in total.
Jeremy Gee, Main Board Director at Fairview, said: “This award is richly deserved for Dave and all of his team at The Village, who continually strive to exceed expectations.
“To win one Quality Award is a huge achievement for any site manager, so to win two in a row is a wonderful testament to the professionalism, commitment and attention to detail shown by Dave and his team over a sustained period of time.”
“At Fairview, we take great pride in building high-quality new homes, and we’re delighted that those efforts have been recognised by the judges.
“On behalf of the whole Fairview team, I’d like to congratulate Dave on his award and wish him all the very best in the regional finals.”
