These computer-generated images show how some of the homes will look in the next phase to be built at The Village in Buntingford.

Fairview New Homes started work on the development, which is being built on the former Sainsbury’s depot site off London Road, in June 2015.

Work is now beginning on the homes in phase 2 of the development, the first of which are set to be released for sale at the end of March.

Jim Holliday, Sales and Marketing Director for Fairview, said: “We are proud to be regenerating this prominent site in Buntingford to provide much-needed new homes.

“The former Sainsbury’s depot site had been disused since 2003 and was becoming an eyesore, but the development of The Village is bringing this land back into beneficial use.

“Building work on our first phase is coming to an end, with many new residents already settled into their homes, and we are now looking ahead to the second phase of homes.

“We look forward to seeing The Village continue to grow and evolve into a new community.”

Fairview is building and selling homes at The Village in 3 phases.

All of the homes in phase 1 are now fully built and occupied, or nearing completion, while building work on the second phase of homes has just begun.

As part of the planning agreement for the development, Fairview is making financial contributions totalling £2.4m to support the local infrastructure and amenities.

Contributions include more than £1.5m for schools and nursery facilities and £196,000 for health facilities.
