A housebuilder in Harrow-on-the-Hill is helping to spread some festive cheer by supporting a Christmas Day lunch for local residents.
Fairview New Homes, which is building its Lexicon development on Gayton Road, has donated towards the Sudbury and Kenton Churches’ annual Christmas Day lunch.
The event was established more than 40 years ago to provide a hot meal and friendly company for people who would otherwise be alone on Christmas Day, and this year’s lunch is set to be the biggest yet.
Catherine O’Donoghue, chair of Sudbury and Kenton Churches, said: “We’re expecting this year’s lunch to be one of our busiest to date, with a big uptake in volunteers and we are extremely grateful to Fairview New Homes for their support.
“This kind donation has gone a long way to covering our food costs and will enable us to rent a mini bus to pick up guests who wouldn’t otherwise be able to get to the centre on Christmas Day.”
Andy Georgiou, Sales and Marketing Director for Fairview, said: “The Sudbury and Kenton Churches’ Christmas Day lunch is a truly heartwarming example of festive goodwill and community spirit in action and we are delighted to support it.
“We are proud that our donation will help to bring some festive cheer to those who would otherwise be spending Christmas alone, and we hope that everyone who attends the event has a wonderful time.”
Fairview New Homes is building a range of 1, 2 and 3-bedroom apartments at Lexicon, with prices starting from £334,000.
