An expectant couple were able to trade up to a bigger home in Buntingford in time to welcome their first child there.
Kerri Arbon and Mark Barrett urgently needed to sell their 2-bedroom home in Ware and move into a bigger home, in time for the arrival of their first baby.
And they were all settled into their new home ready to welcome baby Zara.
Kerri, 35, said: “We were in a real hurry to move home, as our family of 2 was about to become 3 – so having the stress of selling taken away from us by Fairview was a real help.
“By using FairMove, we were able to reserve our new home with a deposit while Fairview worked to market and sell our existing home.
“We had lived in our old home for a decade but we were on the verge of outgrowing it, so FairMove was just what we needed to help us to get moving quickly.”
FairMove is a free service offered to buyers who want to reserve a Fairview home but have an existing property to sell.
To begin the process, Fairview arrange 3 independent valuations of the existing property and a selling price is agreed with the buyer.
Fairview then works with estate agents to get the existing property sold within a short time frame – and also pays the agents’ fees when the home is sold.
To make moving even easier, FairMove can be used in conjunction with Help to Buy, which enables buyers to purchase a new home with a 5% deposit and 75% mortgage.
The remaining 20% is provided as an equity loan from the government which is interest-free for the first 5 years.
Kerri and Mark chose a 3-bedroom Primrose house design at The Village, after being impressed by the spaciousness of the property.
Kerri said: “We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the homes at The Village compared to other new builds we had looked at, and were completely sold on the Primrose once we saw it.
“Both of us are particularly fond of the large bay window in the living room, the large landing area upstairs, and the spaciousness of the rooms.”
