The site manager overseeing the build of a new homes development in Buntingford is celebrating after winning a prestigious industry award.
Dave Lawrence, who manages the construction team at The Village, off London Road, was awarded a Quality Award in the National House Building Council’s (NHBC) Pride in the Job Awards.
Recognised as the most highly-regarded competition in the housebuilding industry, the awards honour site managers across the country who achieve the highest standards.
Dave has been based on-site at The Village – Fairview New Homes’ development on the former Sainsbury’s depot site – since building work began in June 2015.
He said: “This award is a tribute to all of the team at Fairview – both on-site in Buntingford and in the project team at our head office in Enfield, as well as our dedicated team of sub-contractors.
“They have all worked hard and played a part in helping to keep the development programme on schedule, and this award is testament to their efforts.
“It will be a real honour to receive the award at the regional finals in Newbury.”
Dave will be presented with his award at the NHBC’s regional final event for the southern area, which takes place later this year.
He will also be put forward for the next stage of the Pride in the Job awards – the NHBC’s Seal of Excellence Award.
Dave and his team recently began building work on homes within phase 2 at The Village, which will comprise 82 homes in total.
Jeremy Gee, Main Board Director at Fairview, said: “This award is richly deserved for Dave and all of his team at The Village, who continually strive to exceed expectations.
“At Fairview, we take huge pride in building high-quality new homes, and this award is a culmination of all of the hard work and dedication which has been put into doing this in Buntingford.
“On behalf of the whole Fairview team, I’d like to wish Dave all the very best in the regional finals of the Pride in the Job Awards 2017.”
