More than 90 people came along to an event on Saturday (June 23rd) to learn more about a collection of new homes being built in Harpenden.
Fairview New Homes unveiled details of the Welcombe House collection, its new development in Southdown Road, for the first time at a community event held at the Bennet’s Club, Leyton Road.
Fairview is building a range of bespoke new 2 and 3-bedroom houses and apartments within the Welcombe House collection, and will convert the Grade II listed former Harpenden House Hotel building into a collection of prestigious apartments as part of the scheme.
Jeremy Gee, Main Board Director for Fairview, said: “We’d like to thank all of the visitors who came along to our community event on Saturday.
“The site of the Welcombe House collection is in a prominent position, opposite Harpenden Common and close to the railway station, and the Harpenden House Hotel building is a landmark in the town – so we appreciate that there is a lot of local interest in our development plans.
“That is why we wanted to hold a community event so that visitors could meet our team and hear first-hand what our development will involve.
“A lot of people took up this opportunity and we were pleased to share details of our plans with them.”
Fairview is building a total of 37 homes within the Welcombe House collection – 19 new apartments, 13 new houses, and 5 bespoke converted apartments within the listed hotel building.
The listed building – originally known as the Welcombe building – will be converted into a collection of exceptional 2 and 3-bedroom apartments, and will be known as Welcombe House.
Each of the 5 apartments will have a bespoke floorplan, and the layouts of the apartments have been designed to make the very most of the listed building’s features and shape.
Two collections of characterful new homes – Welcombe Mews and Welcombe Gardens – will be built beside Welcombe House.
Welcombe Mews will be located behind the listed building and will comprise 19 new apartments, with the first residents set to move in by the end of the year.
Welcombe Gardens is being built on land adjacent to the listed building and will comprise a range of 13 distinctive new houses. Residents are set to start moving into their homes from this Autumn.
Several homes within the development have already been reserved off plan, and a formal launch for the Welcombe House collection will take place this Autumn.
