Construction work has begun on the second phase of homes being built on the former Sainsbury’s depot site in Buntingford.

Fairview New Homes started work on its development The Village, off London Road, in June 2015, and 65 of the homes are now occupied.

A total of 82 homes will be built within phase 2. Houses for sale at the development range in size from 2 to 4 bedrooms.

Jeremy Gee, Main Board Director for Fairview, said: “We are proud to be regenerating this once derelict brownfield site to deliver much-needed new homes for Buntingford, and we are really pleased with how the development is taking shape.

“We have already welcomed 65 residents to their new homes at The Village and buyers of the final plots in phase 1 will be moving in in the near future.

“The start of construction work on phase 2 marks an important milestone in the transformation of the site and we look forward to seeing The Village continue to grow and evolve into a vibrant new community.”
