Tucking in to a picnic basket full of your favourite snacks is a 'must-do' activity in any British summer.

To celebrate National Picnic Week, which starts this Friday 15th June, we pick out 5 of the most picturesque spots for a picnic in London.

Kew Gardens

Be at one with nature and explore over 250 years of history at Kew Gardens.

With attractions including the Grade I listed Temperate House, The Hive and Palm House - you'll be certain to work up an appetite before settling down for a picnic.

Primrose Hill

Pack the sandwiches, bottle the lemonade and don't forget the paper plates before heading over to Primrose Hill for an afternoon of cloud watching underneath Shakespeare's Tree.

Greenwich Park

Boasting one of the capital's most stunning views, Greenwich Park is a perfect spot for friends, families, romantics or nature lovers to enjoy a bite to eat.

Crystal Palace Park

In among the dinosaur sculptures and hedged maze course, you'll find plenty of green space at Crystal Palace Park to spread out the chequered blanket for lunch al fresco.

London Fields

One of Hackney's most popular parks, London Fields features a designated barbecue area for those who want to spice up their traditional picnic basket menu.
