With spring in full bloom, it's time to venture outdoors again in London. Here's our favourite events taking place in the capital in April.
Oxford/Cambridge Boat Race
The 163rd annual boat race between the crews of Oxford and Cambridge will take place on Sunday 2nd April.
With Cambridge leading the series 82:79, the onus will be on Oxford to respond in the 2017 event.
Visitors can watch the race, which starts at 5.35pm, from the banks of the Thames between Putney and Mortlake.
London Coffee Festival
With more than 250 baristas showcasing their flavours, food stalls, pop-up shops and much more, the London Coffee Festival is the place to be in April.
The festival takes place between Thursday 6th and Sunday 9th April and is hosted at the Old Truman Brewery, Brick Lane.
St. George's Day
On Saturday 22nd April, to celebrate St. George's Day, visitors to Trafalgar Square will be able to enjoy a traditional English feast at a variety of food stalls.
The area will be decorated in red and white, with themed activities including games and cooking demonstrations by celebrity chefs also taking place.
The London Marathon
One of the highlights in the capital's calendar each year, the London Marathon brings almost 40,000 runners and more than one million spectators to the city's streets.
Held on the Sunday 23rd April this year, visitors can get close to the action and cheer on the runners from some of London's best vantage points.
