It's half term - head into London for a fun family day out to keep the kids entertained.

Imagine Children’s Festival, The Southbank Centre

Throughout the February half term, the Southbank Centre is hosting its family-friendly Imagine Children's Festival.

Youngsters can enjoy the best in children’s literature, theatre and music, including free events such as bedtime stories, puppet shows and a wealth of interesting workshops.

This year’s theme is the art and culture of the Scandinavian countries, and the festival includes a vast Lego landscape and a free screening of Disney’s The Little Mermaid, which originates from Denmark.

V&A Museum of Childhood

Board games are fun for all the family, so why not take the kids to visit the V&A Museum of Childhood, where they can create and design their own?

Alternatively, take part in 'Checkmate! An Interactive Family Tour', in which participants dress up as chess pieces to search for the missing White Queen.
