It may be the shortest month of the year, but February is packed full of important dates and festivals in the capital.
Here are 5 events you should check out this month.
London Fashion Week Festival
If you didn’t get an invite to the prestigious London Fashion Week this year – and let’s face it who did? – then don’t fret, there’s still a chance to view the hottest new collections straight off the catwalk.
London Fashion Week: Insider is a new event which takes place within the official show space at Store X, which is open to the public with two ticket options available.
Fashion enthusiasts can choose between and Insider ticket, which allows access to a festival catwalk show, industry talks and a designer tote bag, or a Front Row ticket, which enables VIP access to the festival’s hospitality lounge and complimentary champagne.
Both Insider and Front Row tickets are still available here for Saturday 16th and 17th February, with prices starting from £139.
Chinese New Year
Every February Londoners line the streets to celebrate the Chinese New Year in style, and with a colourful parade and energetic performances planned, this year looks set to be no different.
Despite the Chinese calendar starting on Tuesday 5th February this year, the capital’s official celebration - the largest of its kind outside of Asia - takes place on Sunday 10th February, with hundreds of thousands of people set to enjoy the festivities.
The official parade starts from Charing Cross Road with dragon and lion dances before snaking through Chinatown and ending in Trafalgar Square, where there will be plenty of food stalls and a spectacular firework display to cap off the day.
Romeo and Juliet at the Rivoli Ballroom
It’s arguably the most famous love story ever told, and Rivoli Ballroom is the perfect place to catch Romeo and Juliet on the big screen this Valentine’s Day.
The iconic ballroom is hosting the Pop Up Cinema on Thursday 14th February, where couples can catch the 90s retelling of the tragic tale, starring Leonardo Di-Caprio and Claire Danes.
There will be two bars open on the night serving a mixture of cocktails, ciders and wines as well as a plenty of food and popcorn.
Tickets can be purchased here.
Motor shows at the ExCel Centre
February is a fine month for gearheads in the capital, with both the London Classic Car Show and the Carol Nash MCN London Motorcycle Show taking place at the ExCel Centre.
The Classic Car Show runs from Thursday 14th to Sunday 17th February on the west side of the centre with exhibits celebrating the 50th anniversary of The Italian Job, the career of Jaguar’s director of design, Ian Callum, and the Grand Avenue Show.
Running across the same weekend, but located in the east side of the Excel, The London Motorcycle Show is set to feature a range of classics and brand new 2019 models, more than 200 retail stands and a Michelin Thunderdrone live action show.
Tickets for both events can be purchased on the ExCel Centre’s website.
