As 2018 draws to an end, the capital is packed full of wintery fun to keep you entertained through those longer nights.

Here are 5 events to check out this November in London.


Bonfire Night

As is tradition on the first weekend of November, the Autumn sky lights up with a flourish of fireworks to commemorate the foiling of Guy Fawkes' gunpowder plot.

There’s a host of firework displays taking place across the capital between Saturday 3rd and Monday 5th November, but this year’s highlights include the firework festivals at Alexandra Palace and the Guy Fawkes Festival at the Gunpowder Mills in Waltham Abbey.

London Jazz Festival

Running from Friday 16th to Sunday 25th November, the EFG London Jazz Festival returns to the capital, showcasing leading and emerging talents from across the globe.  

Initially starting out as a small festival north of the Thames, the event has expanded into one of the major international jazz gatherings.

Throughout the 10 days there will be hundreds of concerts taking place at various venues across London. The festival is also setting up workshops from improvisation and singing all the way down to Jazz for Toddlers.

ATP Tour Finals at 02 Arena

November marks the end of the professional tennis season and, since 2009, the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) has held an annual final tournament at London’s 02 Arena.

Only the world's top eight ATP singles players and doubles teams qualify for the tournament, which starts on Sunday 11th November and runs through to the final on the following Sunday (18th).

Star names including Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Roger Federer have qualified for the singles, while Britain’s Jamie Murray has qualified for the doubles with his partner Bruno Soares.

Winter Wonderland

We’re sure you don’t need reminding, but Christmas is fast approaching, and nothing gets people in the festive spirit quite like Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland.

From Friday 23rd November, Hyde Park sheds its Autumn leaves and transforms into the famous Winter Wonderland, complete with giant ice rink, beautiful market stalls, observation wheel and a host of new activities.

Amongst the new attractions, organisers have introduced a Peter Pan on Ice show, ice sculpting workshops, and a fun-for-all comedy club.

This year promises to be the biggest yet and with free entry to Winter Wonderland, it’s never been easier to immerse yourself in the Christmas merriment.


After Dark at Cheswick House

Experience Cheswick House’s historic 18th-century gardens come to life in designer Nick Gray’s fantastic new night walk and light show, which weaves through the palace’s award-winning grounds.

Visitors will see Cheswick House in a brand-new light through a series of projected light shows, which will illuminate some of the garden’s beautiful features and stunning architecture.

Following the trail, visitors will be able to enjoy some of London’s finest street food traders.
