Free Easter Trail to Celebrate New Village Walking Routes in Watton-at-Stone

March 24, 2026

Residents of Watton-at-Stone and nearby communities are invited to lace up their walking shoes this Easter as Fairview New Homes hosts a free family Easter trail on Sunday 29 March at its new homes development, Wattons, to celebrate the completion of new pathways and installation of the new bridge over the River Beane, creating a circular walking route.

The four-kilometre trail will guide participants along sections of the newly created routes, which form part of a wider network of new pathways and cycle paths designed to make it easier for residents to move around Watton-at-Stone and enjoy the surrounding countryside.

Along the route, walkers will search for eight Easter-themed clues that together solve a riddle. When completed, the answer will reveal where participants can find Easter eggs waiting for them to collect at the development.

Those wishing to take part simply need to visit the Wattons sales and marketing suite between 10am – 4pm on Sunday 29th March to collect their instructions and clue sheet before setting off.

Improving the village’s accessibility

The event marks the completion of a new circular path around the village, a key piece of local infrastructure. The improved network includes:

  • New pathways and cycle paths connecting parts of the village
  • A new circular route around Watton-at-Stone, making local walks more accessible and enjoyable
  • Improved access to surrounding green spaces
  • Ecological enhancements and planting designed to encourage wildlife
  • A new footbridge over the River Beane, providing a vital link within the circular route
  • These improvements have been delivered as part of Wattons, a new development created with the local community firmly in mind.

Working closely with the Parish Council and the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group, Fairview has contributed over £1 million towards local infrastructure and services.

The development also features its own landscaped green spaces and play area, with ecological planting to support wildlife and create pleasant outdoor areas for residents and visitors alike.

Residents and the local community are warmly encouraged to take part in the Easter trail, enjoy the new circular route and discover the enhanced green connections around the village.

A small number of spacious three- and four-bedroom houses remain at Wattons, with prices starting from £550,000.

Parking at the development is limited, so those wishing to take part in the Easter trail are encouraged to make a short walk from the village.

For more information about the event (including the development address) or homes available at Wattons, visit the sales and marketing suite or the website.
