Fairview Expects Over 500 Completions on Homes in and around London in 2024 Amid City Living Comeback.
The new developments will cater to the 77% of Londoners who’d prefer to buy their first home in the capital. 1

Amid the housing shortage in the capital, Fairview New Homes, the first-time buyer developer of choice, has announced it expects to secure 515 completions on new homes in and around London in 2024, with four new developments ready for sale across London and the home counties covering New Barnet, Goodmayes, Loughton and Brentford.
According to a survey conducted by Fairview, city living is making a comeback, with 30% of respondents stating that transport links were a priority when buying a home. This has doubled year-on-year. A quarter (25%) of respondents also said being close to work was a priority.2
This follows the “exodus” during the pandemic, where many Londoner’s sought greener pastures amidst the transition to working from home. However, with many companies reintroducing 3 – 4 days in the office, in many inner London boroughs population inflows have now exceeded their pre-pandemic levels.3
Chris Hood, Sales and Marketing Director at Fairview New Homes says, ““For over 63 years Fairview has witnessed the ebbs and flow of the capitals housing market but with one notable constant: that being the prevailing demand for property in London and the home counties.
Despite the increasing hardships faced by buyers - particularly of those in recent years – our research found that 77% of Londoner’s would still prefer to buy their first home in the capital.
Our aim is to help those first-time buyers get a foothold on the property ladder and so, meeting this demand, we have delivered over 500 new affordable homes across London and the home boroughs in 2024; located in varying communities to suit all.”
