Housebuilder completes transformation of former Phoneix Works

Construction work is now complete on a housing development on the site of the former Phoenix Works factory in Poplar.

Fairview New Homes has finished building the final apartments at Phoenix, its development of 143 apartments off Broomfield Street next to the Limehouse Cut.  

The 0.43-hectare site was previously home to the Phoenix Works but following the factory’s closure, the site had fallen into disrepair.

Fairview secured planning permission for Phoenix in 2016 and officially launched the development in January 2018. All the apartments have now been sold.

Phoenix comprises a mixture of one, two three-bedroom apartments, of which 40 have been provided as affordable housing.

Since the launch at Phoenix, Fairview has also started construction work on developments in Greenwich and Surrey Quays.

The developer is building 81 homes at its Maritime development off Greenwich High Road in Greenwich, and 60 homes at Hydro off Yeoman Street in Surrey Quays.
