MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT VACANCY

We are looking for a Management Accounts Assistant to join our team.

You'll be reporting to the Management Accounts Manager within the Finance - Management Accounts Team. 

Areas of responsibility include:

LAND APPRAISALS

  • Produce of financial appraisals for potential site acquisitions 
  • Liaise with landbuyers. 
  • Challenge assumptions made and enforce appraisal standards.
  • Input financial data into Excel appraisal.
  • Generate summary land acquisition schedule as required.
  • Produce other general land related reports.


FINANCE BOARD REPORT

  • Analyse and produce reports for Board report including sales/build analysis.
  • Produce hard copy trial balances in designated format.
  • Produce aftersales and maintenance report.
  • Update site appraisals with forecast data for input to monthly board report.
  • Input and reconcile data in calc check file and explain variances.
  • Reconcile unallocated costs.
  • Finalise and issue formal calcs.


DATABASE MANAGEMENT

  • Input sales releases, reservations, exchanges and completions (and cancellations).
  • Reconcile data entered to source documents.
  • Run reports from COINS database and validate data to sales reports
  • Query and resolve differences with sales department.
  • Timely collection of supporting documentation from sales department.
  • Data collection on joint venture and other ad hoc projects from sales department.
  • Produce release and exchange trend reports.


ADMINISTRATION

  • Create files and labels
  • File documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Support Management Accounts Director and team.
  • Photocopy / distribute reports etc as and when required.
  • Ad hoc tasks as directed

 

TRAINING PROVIDED

  • Accountancy / Taxation Level 7 Apprenticeship (Includes CIMA/ACCA/ACA).
  • Day release provided subject to workload (wherever possible tuition will be via day release, however on occasion the apprentice may need to attend evening / weekend tuition where the departmental workload precludes weekday attendance).
  • On the job training / supervision by CIMA, ACCA and QBE accountants.
  • Ad hoc departmental training.


PERSONAL PROFILE

Essential:

Minimum 2 A Levels (any subject) and 5 A-C grade GCSEs, including English and Maths
Spreadsheet skills (EXCEL)
Previous experience in an office environment.
Good communicator across all levels.
Thorough and conscientious.
Ability to work in a team.
Basic accounting experience and awareness.
Flexible approach to workload.

Advantageous:

Previous COINS system experience (not essential as training will be given).
Database skills (LOTUS 123) (not essential as training will be given).


PACKAGE

  • £25,000 p.a.
  • Study package, plus professional memberships and exam fees paid.
  • Pension contributions matched to 5%.
  • Annual health check & flu clinic.
  • Private health care (AXA) upon completion of 3-month probation.
  • 23 days holiday + 1 day per year of service up to 25 days p.a.
